From my trip to Goldendale. Last week's black and white fence photo was also from Goldendale. Some interesting lenticular cloud formations were developing during my afternoon in this corridor between the gorge and the eastern Washington plains. I really liked the cloud color in this particular scene, and also the fresh green grass and golden lichen. A very early spring color palette. The sun is directly behind me in this photo, which really flattens the scene, but that's OK because I was picturing this photo as a more abstract color-blocked scene anyway.

A lovely location, and that fence is hanging on!
ReplyDeleteMy dad use to hunt in the Goldendale area. I've only driven by it. - This is a lovely scene. I like the lichen on the fence posts too and the neat clouds.
ReplyDeletein an abstract sense, it is very striking indeed! I see the intensity of spring in those colors...I imagine that with your art form of photography you can "paint" on the computer to express what you perceive & feel while being in a place...
ReplyDeletePS I love the title of your photo too with "lenticulr" and "lichen"...very delicious words!
ReplyDeleteLooks like this fence has seen some better days. Nice view...
ReplyDeleteNice scene and great colors. You need to go visit the Dalles Mountain Ranch when the wildflowers start blooming.
ReplyDeleteNice layers of colors -- feels like spring -- barbara
