I wonder why people don't eat the leaves on a broccoli plant. They look just like collards to me. Large, waxy, blue-green leaf. This is my one broccoli plant. Out of the six I planted this was the only one to survive the snail onslaught of last November (I have plans to outsmart the snails this fall!) Right now the plant is just starting to go to seed, so it probably doesn't even need to be watered but it gets hit by the sprinkler anyway.

It is a healthy veggie, that's for sure. Good luck with those snails next fall (they are attracted to beer, I hear :^)
