Steel Bridge

Portland's Steel Bridge, with its towers reflected here in the still waters of the Willamette on a foggy morning, brings an industrial majesty to this wonderful city of bridges. The Steel Bridge is one of eight bridges connecting the east and west sides of downtown Portland, aptly nicknamed Bridgetown.

Springtime Sunset

Fabulous cloud front illuminated by the setting sun earlier this week. And very typical of what we see in the spring: rain, sun, repeat (xn). We were waiting for a table at a restaurant along the Columbia River, between Vancouver and Portland when this cloud and setting sun were forming. The scene sent me hurrying to my car to get my camera!

Queen Anne's Lace

We're not moved in yet; still in temporary quarters, but starting to settle in a little and explore the Portland area.  Today we found a running trail with plenty of Queen Anne's lace along the edges. Technically a weed, Queen Anne's lace is one of my favorite "flowers" because it reminds me of childhood summers in Indiana.
