Under 84

The dog-walking park I mentioned in yesterday's post is contained by the Sandy River on one side and I-84 on another side.  We were making out way back along the river toward the car just as the sun was getting ready to set, and the light was so pretty under the I-84 overpass.  Converted to black and white, as part of my artistic photography class focus on black and white this week.  I went to class last night, and I have to say I was looking forward to moving past this black and white phase, but I was disappointed to learn that not only will we continue to work in black and white, but this week we will be working on portraits!  And to make matters even worse they are supposed to be portraits of strangers!  This is about as far out of my comfort zone as I could get. I'm trying to mentally embrace this project, but not too excited about it so far.  Maybe I will be posting some portraits here in the next few weeks...

Who knew the underside of a bridge would look so artistic? But in black and white it does! Good luck on your upcoming portrait project.

Excellent reflection.I don't envy your next task as I find it very difficult to take photos of strangers.

i can understand not feeling comfortable taking portraits of strangers. :) love this b&w, though.

to me it always feels weird walking under a bridge like that. Nice images :)
