Yellow Rumped Warbler

I get a lot of little birds at my feeder: chickadees, finches, sparrows.  This little guy joins them from time to time.  At first I thought he was just some strange hybrid between a finch and chickadee, but I looked him up this morning and it turns out he's a yellow rumped warbler.  I guess he also has a yellow spot on his rump, but it must be covered by his wings :)

I have one in my yard that is starting to look like this, so I know he is minutes away from leaving me and going up north. He is really beautiful, Melissa. You get to enjoy them in all their breeding finery. :)

Nice shot! I will have to look for this little bird as I have never seen one. Right now I am hearing so many bird calls -- tells me spring is definitely here! -- barbara
