August 29

Today at Great American I kept trying this panning shot with the idea that I'd blur the surroundings while keeping the roller coaster in focus, for this frozen movement look.  My success rate (if this is actually's sort of how my astigmatism looks without glasses!) was about 1 in 10.  I felt like there was a learning curve I was always just rounding.  I'm sure there is, but I think it takes more practice than I gave it.  I'm not wild about the composition here; I wish the roller coaster were a little lower in the frame, but I don't really want to crop because I like the thickness of the lower part of the photo.
